Meet Our Founders

De'Von Truvel and Sinclair are the founders of Play Black Wall Street. This couple met in college and have been promoting Black Wealth and Health since graduating together in 2016. De'Von Truvel focuses on game and curriculum development while Sinclair focuses on community health and business logistics. Together, they lead the growth and impact of Play Black Wall Street.

During the summer of 2017 De'Von Truvel volunteered at a Summer Camp where his camper name was "Black Wall Street". None of the California Middle School or High School students knew what Black Wall Street was. Leaving the camp De'Von wanted to create a game to teach that history. He called his Queen Sinclair and she thought it was a brilliant idea but figured it must already exist. After searching, they only found games based on negative stereotypes about the Black community, so they decided to create a game based on real Black History and Excellence! 1 year later De'Von Truvel returned to the camp with the first edition of the game. The rest is history!

Today, Play Black Wall Street is more than a board game company. Our mission is to help increase the number of entrepreneurs who strive to solve community problems. We have mentorship programs, host workshops, and host interactive game sessions to teach the history of Black Wall Street and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. We are here to serve.
